Internal door information

There is debate about whether locking internal doors is actually of any benefit when it comes to theft. Whilst you are away a locked internal door may cause the burglar to stop from going further into your home, however, it may also encourage them to explore further and in doing so the damage caused by smashing down the door could be considerable.

Internal doors should not be locked when the home is occupied, because of the difficulty with escape in the event of a fire.
