Speculation in the housing market
Posted on February 16th 2009
In the past month the average asking price of a house in the UK has risen from £213,570 to £216,163, according to a recent survey conducted by Rightmove.
This recent climb has seen the highest increase in these figures since May of last year. However this hope has been short lived after Rightmove then jumped in with an estimation of further drops to come.
The commercial director of Rightmove Miles Shipside has stated it is typical of estate agents to raise house prices at the start of the year. He has also made clear that he is expecting further falls over the coming months, and hinted at a 10 percent drop during 2009.
