Obituary for New Year's resolution
March 18th is the date when most New Year's resolution's
fad-diets finally end in failure.
People who have sacrificed eating the things they love are giving in and
returning to their former gastronomic
pleasures, after all their previous denials.
A parallel can be drawn between fad diets and long-term lifestyle eating
changes, and financial quick-fixes and long term budgeting, apparently,
and so this is also the point at which people start to get tempted by
shiny new gadgets, having tightened their belts until now.
Katie Roswell, the marketing director of PruHealth, said: "It's
encouraging to see a common move towards long-term healthy
lifestyles, rather than people opting for more short-term fixes, such as
unhealthy, fad diet plans.
"However, it's also clear how important it is to maintain momentum and
motivation to stick to a permanent lifestyle change."
