Nottingham house fire couple treated for smoke inhalation
Firefighters have tackled a serious house fire in Nottingham, which threatened to engulf an entire house, it has been reported.
The emergency services arrived at the house to tackle a blaze and treat the two residents for smoke inhalation, after they attempted to tackle the blaze themselves.
Starting downstairs at the back of the house, the fire eventually became so hot that even some windows upstairs were smashed due to the heat.
Beeston fire officer Clare Hudson said: "The fire was downstairs at the rear of the house but the whole house was smoke damaged.
"Downstairs is very badly damaged at the rear and the front and upstairs are smoke damaged It was quite fierce - there were some windows that smashed upstairs from the heat."
Home contents insurance will be vital in this case to replace or repair any damaged goods.
However, in a fire such as this, if a kitchen was the starting place then the bill will run into tens of thousands of pounds as entire rooms need to be replaced.
