Northamptonshires proposal for more housing
Plans for the construction of 42,000 homes in Northamptonshire have been rejected by the county council due to concerns made by both council officials and locals.
The plans for the housing, which will include the build of 18,000 in Northampton itself, will not go ahead until at least 2026. Currently there is no support behind the builds which could have dramatic effects on the environment, including the risks of flooding and destruction of wildlife in the county.
One of the councillors from Northamptonshire County Council who is one of the members for environment, growth and construction had agreed that there are issues that need laying out before any proposals are agreed and how they are going to effect the population in the area as well as the environmental issues.
Before any decisions go ahead in the next 20 years the council will have to thoroughly consider the effects and all opinions by locals will have to be listened to. Livelihoods maybe affected if the plans are approved, villages may end up growing dramatically to give way for hundreds of housing developments.
