New homes 'could lead to savings'
Buying a new home can save an owner as much as 25 per cent on their home insurance, it has been claimed.
National housebuilder Bryant Homes has suggested that purchasing a newly built property means an owners' goods are more secure, and as such can rely on cheaper insurance quotes.
Jason Colmer, regional sales and marketing director for Bryant Homes, said: "With the clocks due to go back next month and darker evenings just around the corner, it's the right time to start thinking about your home security.
"With the additional benefits of owning a new home, such as decreased fuel bills and DIY costs, coupled with the range of incentives and schemes currently available, you can make some considerable reductions to your outgoings."
Whether living in an old or new home, the cost of home insurance is rarely too high a price to pay to protect an owner's possessions.
