Neighbourhoods suffering from antisocial behaviour
A survey has found that neighbourhoods are suffering from anti-social behaviour more than ever.
Over the past two years the number of people that have reported noisy neighbours has increased by a third, either from the person next door or people in the street being badly behaved. One survey that was carried out found 20% of the people that took part had suffered from anti social behaviour.
Since 2007 there has been an increase of 34% on the number of households that had experienced antisocial behaviour, a figure that has not been seen since 1997 when figures were at an all time high. Since the beginning of 2009 17% of home owners have been a victim of noises neighbours, which people feel has increased since the beginning of the recession. More people are being made redundant and required to move around, coming across a different range of families and neighbourhoods.
The survey comes after an inquest into why a mother killed herself and her daughter following an awful amount of bullying and antisocial behaviour from neighbours due to her daughters disability back in 2007. The prime minister has announced that they will do their upmost to try and combat some 50,000 disruptive families, causing misery to homeowners across the country.
