NI fire crews battle flooding
Fire services have been working hard over the weekend to evacuate people from their homes in Northern Ireland, as well as divert flooding water after torrential rain caused flooding in the area.
The flooding was so acute in some areas that an RNLI lifeboat was used in order to get from one home to another, evacuating people from flooded houses.
The unpredicted flood will serve as a reminder to many that home insurance must be renewed regularly and assessed continually in order provide adequate and comprehensive cover.
Contents insurance is certainly key to many of the claims likely to be made in the next few days across Northern Ireland, after peoples valuables will have been destroyed by the waters.
"The RNLI have special kit that we use with our inshore lifeboat that keeps us dry and warm," explained an RNLI spokesman.
"Our lifeboat crew assisted two older people to safety from their homes and by the time we stood down two-and-a-half hours later the water was receding."
