Mortgage and housing fears
Posted on January 12th 2009
A family that had a baby a week ago are set to loose their house after the fathers work as a carpenter dried up when the recession began.
The family should be celebrating the birth of their baby; it should be a happy time full of love and hope. The family of 6 could be thrown out on the streets if they miss one more mortgage payment. They have missed five payments and their lender has a repossession order.
Sadly they are not alone their is more than 200 families across the UK that are being repossessed every day. Half a million people are struggling to keep up mortgage payments. The council of mortgage lenders have released a report, which states that 210,000 people were more than three months behind on their repayments, which will rise to 500,000 by the end of next year.
Systems are being put in place to help support families that are at risk of loosing their property.
