More Than offers tips to flooded homeowners
More Th>n has moved to offer homeowners advice in the wake of the recent flooding to have hit parts of the north-east, Herefordshire, Yorkshire, Shropshire and Worcestershire - and in preparation for further bad weather expected in the north-east over the next 24 hours.
According to More Th>n, one of the most important thing to remember is that homeowners' insurance companies are there to help, while advice from the Environment Agency and local councils should also be heeded.
Another thing to consider is the electrics - those who have already been affected by the flooding should not, under any circumstances, touch the electrics, More Th>n understandable [IS THIS RIGHT?] says.
In order to aid recovery, More Th>n says windows should where possible be kept open in the morning as the air outside the house will be less moist than the air inside.
However, this will change in the afternoon, so windows should be closed - and the heating switched on to aid the during-out process.
This does not mean that the heating should be turned on at full blast, though, as items should be allowed to dry out gradually rather than be exposed to extreme heat.
