Money savings guide could help consumers pay home insurance bills
Posted on June 24th 2008
Consumers whose finances are under pressure have been offered advice by a price comparison website in an attempt to help them reduce expenditure.
uSwitch.com's money savings guide will help people find the money to pay home insurance, energy, food and petrol bills even as the Office of National Statistics warns that food, clothes and petrol prices are likely to climb faster than people's salaries.
Inflation is already at its highest level for 11 years and essential living costs are rising at the fastest rate since records began 22 years ago - making savings more important than ever.
"British households are feeling the pinch more than ever before, and it doesn't look like the situation is getting any better over the coming months," commented Ann Robinson, director of consumer policy at uSwitch.com.
"But while consumers are struggling to make ends meet there are measures they can take to reduce their monthly outgoings. Households could save up to £1,500 on bills and financial services by following the simple money saving tips within our guide."
Tips include shopping around for the best insurance deals and buying supermarkets' own value ranges rather than premium or branded food.
