Man found dead after arson attack on home
A man was found dead in his home after becoming the victim of an arson attack in the middle of the night, it has been reported.
Richard Perkins, 37, was found in the early hours of Monday morning following an arson attack on his Worcester home.
His wife and three children managed to escape and so far one man and a youth have been arrested in connection with the fire.
While the circumstances of such a fire are particularly tragic, the unpredictable nature cannot be overlooked, and as such homeowners should take steps to protect their possessions in the event of a similar senseless attack.
Home insurance can protect a building's structure as well as its contents, and can save the owner of a home some tens or thousands of pounds in the event of damage, be it an accident or malicious.
Detective superintendent Andy Rowsell, of West Mercia Police, said in a BBC report: "We are in the early stages of this major investigation and we would like to hear from anyone who has information which they think may be useful to the inquiry.
