Lock your doors
Lincolnshire Police have issued a warning to homeowners to be more vigilant when out in their gardens, or even pottering around their own home, and make sure that they are locking all external doors and windows.
The warning has come after a burglary on a home, where the occupier was outside carrying out a little gardening. The victim had left the front door unlocked, leaving an open invitation for the thief who entered the home, stealing two digital cameras, an iPod Nano, keys to a car and the front door, a mobile phone and an expensive watch. The thief also stole a substantial amount of money.
Opportunistic criminals can be in an out of a home within minutes, earning themselves that extra bit of cash. They will attempt to enter a home by any means so by leaving windows or doors open they are left with an easy entrance and exit, saving them more time.
