Kids causing £230 million worth of damage per year
New research has suggested that children cause a whopping £230 million worth of damage in the home.
A study by Tescocompare.com claims that there are more than 850,000 household accidents caused by children per year - a figure which accounts for 42 per cent of all accidents.
The statistics underline the importance of possessing a home insurance policy, and more specifically one that includes accident cover.
However, the research revealed that a worryingly high number of Britons (41 per cent) are not covered - a situation which could leave many families out of pocket this summer, particularly during the school holidays.
Paul Baxter from the website told Fairinvestment.co.uk: "As the saying goes accidents do happen - and this research suggests many of us suffer financial loses on an annual basis.
"With children at home during the holidays the likelihood for accidents to happen increases - and if you aren't covered for accidental damage to your possessions it isn't too late to add this cover to your policy."
