How can i help a charity and renovate my home
Property owners that are looking to make improvement or renovate their homes can now discuss their idea within their own home with a Rias chartered architect. This new idea has been introduced into the housing market not only as a ploy to help the building trade receive more work during the recession. It has also been introduced as a fundraising scheme, which has been supported by TV presenter, George Clarke.
The charity event works by local architects giving up their own time in an hour long consultation and in return for their time a £40 donation will be made to the charity Shelter. The idea gives homeowners the chance to get a professional opinion as to what their best options or designs would be for improving their home.
Mr Clarke said: "Only an architect can give you the big picture, offering insights into the latest trends in property design and advising on everything from finding builders to choosing fixtures and fittings."
So far this event has raised more than £1 million pounds across the UK for Shelter.
