House fire leaves locals stunned

Three youths have been arrested in connection with the death of a 59-year-old woman after a house burned down from a suspected arson attack. The mother of nine was at home when her house in Bodmin was set alight, trapping Mary Fox inside leaving her helpless to the flames and smoke inhalation. Further examinations of the wreckage have revealed the remains of an exploded firework at the doorway of the house leading detectives to believe it was a deliberate arson attack.

Paul Burgan, detective chief inspector for the case said: "We are investigating some positive leads from the community in Bodmin and the investigation team are determined to bring whoever did this to justice to ensure that the family get some kind of closure after this awful and tragic incident."

An 18-year-old man and two youths of 17 have been detained in Launceston police station for further questioning. The case is still in the early stages at this time, and detectives hope to get to the bottom of what happened as quickly as they can.
