Homeowners choose to stay with same home insurance provider
Posted on June 10th 2008
Only one third of households switched their home buildings or home contents policies at renewal time this year - with 64 per cent staying with their same provider.
This year, however, has also seen some providers increase premiums by above average levels.
Paul Baxter at Tescocompare.com says: "The message behind this research is clear - many millions sleepwalk through their insurance renewal allowing their insurer to increase premiums unchallenged.
"Regardless of how loyal you are to your current home and contents insurer - you should shop around at each renewal to make sure you get the cheapest and most appropriate insurance for you."
