Home insurance warning for career break hopefuls
Stressed executives are increasingly likely to opt to take a "gap year"
or sabbatical to seek relaxation from their careers - even resigning
from their current employment, an i-to-i report has found.
Almost double the 2003 amount - 29 per cent - of career-break employees said that they planned to make enquiries about an overseas voluntary posting, or consultancy, in 2007.
Chris Rolland, head of American Express insurance services, commented: "As an increasing number of Brits take a break from working life to embark on a sabbatical or gap year, it is important they get the right type of gap year travel insurance to suit their needs."
Householders are advised that home insurance policies - buildings and contents - also include a maximum number of days per year that they can
leave their property unoccupied. If families want to embark upon new adventures, they need to ensure that their property is fully covered
during their absence.
