Home insurance extensions 'key' to quiet life
Home insurance extensions are being touted as one of the wisest inclusions to a home insurance policy a homeowner could make, it has been reported.
Despite the credit crunch there are still millions of Brits that have plans to go abroad for their summer holidays, and as a result the demand for travel insurance remains large.
Requesting a home insurance extension however, saves holidaymakers a lot of hassle, as the policy will automatically insure the policyholder's goods whether they are in the home or in another country.
"If you are taking out travel insurance, you don't need to include the baggage element because that is covered with your home insurance," explained Ian Crowder, one home insurance analyst.
The suggestions come on the back of research that found one in ten holiday home owners do not have any home insurance for their properties abroad, and separate research last year found that Brits often go on their holidays with no travel insurance whatever, despite massive costs for losing items or injuring themselves.
