Graduates may add thousands to home contents
Parents are being warned to check their home insurance in time for their children coming home from university, after many graduates will be choosing to return instead of continue renting in the cities they studied at.
With graduates returning home with up to several thousands of pounds worth of goods it is certainly necessary for parents to ensure their contents insurance is up to scratch.
Grant Bather, spokesperson at one insurance provider, said: "Many students will have built up quite a collection of valuable items over the course of their degree. While some may have little monetary value, others such as laptops can be expensive and should be properly insured."
Coupled with ipods, games consoles, mobile phones, printers scanners and cameras, a student's bedroom is now an expensive place to spill a drink, and as such should be properly taken care of through home contents insurance.
