Fogle at home heroics
Ben Fogle the intrepid explorer has been finding out that you don't need to travel to far flung places in search of epic challenges, when your own back garden can bring you your own exciting adventure.
Whilst preparing the house in Kensington, west London for Fogle's wife and new born son, Ludovix, four large thugs clambered over the garden fence preparing to rob Fogle's home on Monday 14 December.
Fogle said that he gazed in bewilderment and confusion at the four cumbersome guys sprinting up the garden towards the house and watched in confusion as they proceeded to hammer on the door attempting to get in.
Yet Fogle rallied the courageous sprit which has served him so well in the passed on his other personal challenges including rowing across the Atlantic and climbing to the North pole, in order to deter the potential thieves.
Fogle said that he and his dog made a good duo, as between the barking and Fogle's shouts the burglars received a bit of a shock and turned to run away. Fogle's house remained intact which is a relief to Fogle's family and this also means that Fogle did not have to file a claim against his home contents or buildings insurance in the event of anything being taken or damage by the incident.
The Metropolitan police were almost immediately on the screen however the robbers had already escaped. Yet an arrest was made later that day and the police are investigating possible links between the potential burglary at Fogle's house with an assault early that day.
Fogle said that the burglars should not to have chosen to mess with a new-father who was already losing sleep and who had new reinvigorated paternal instincts. However he did admit on Twitter that the episode had left him feeling a little shaken especially as his family were due to arrive home soon.
Insure My House provides contents and buildings insurance in case of emergencies and to help recuperate the damage and loss to belongings and your home in case of a burglary.
