Flats destroyed at Christmas set for rebuild
A block of flats destroyed by fire on Christmas Day last year are still on schedule to be rebuilt by September next year, a report has stated.
The flats, in Upper Norwood, Croydon, burnt down in a tragic fire on Christmas Day last year, although a three-storey building is set to replace the old property, and it is unlikely that any opposition will be raised against the development.
Started by a child playing with matches, the 1970s-built building erupted in flames leaving 12 families homeless.
Although only some residents owned their flats, all had their possessions destroyed, highlighting the importance of contents insurance.
Contents insurance can offer financial assistance in replacing or repairing damaged possessions after any such tragedy as a fire, theft or flooding.
