Dunstable police warn local residents of theft
Police in Dunstable are warning all property owner to be aware and work as a community to help stop burglaries in the area. The advice comes from the police after 2 breakins and an attempted burglary in the area occurred on the 1st of February. The incidents occurred between 1430 and 1930 GMT, police are appealing for witnesses. The burglaries took place down Kingsbury Avenue and Jeans Way where burglars got away with hundreds of pounds worth of goods.
It is vital that residents in these areas now stay alert and increase awareness as houses are twice as likely to be burgled after an incident has already occurred locally.
Det Con Michelle Sears said: "It's really important that people report anybody behaving suspiciously in residential areas like this. Very often the people we catch for these types of crime have been seen hanging about by a good-hearted neighbour and we are able to get to the house quickly and catch them as they are running away. If someone is in your neighbour's back garden or looking over their fence and you know the occupier is out at work during the day, then don't hesitate to call us - and ask your neighbours to do the same for you."
