Council blasted for wasting money
Posted on March 27th 2009
Councils have been blasted after they took spying on the British public to a whole new level. Not only do we have to contend with CCTV following our every move, we now have councils checking residents put their rubbish out on the correct day and trying to find people responsible for dog fouling.
A council in Norfolk has been blasted for spending £30,000 on hiring a plane with thermal imaging to find homes and businesses that are not energy efficient enough. The council will take further action against businesses and houses could be the next targets. Other councils will follow suit.
They believe this initiative could help residents to rectify their heating problems. If they take the appropriate measures they could save themselves £380 a year. They also believe it will help identify residents that cant afford heating and allow them to get financial help towards heating.
