Car hits house while couple inside
Posted on February 25th 2009
A home was ruined yesterday after an Audi A3 ripped its way through Daisy and Jacky Tang’s living room at 11:45am. The car was travelling at such a speed that it tore right through the exterior wall and demolished the stairway leaving the traumatised couple stranded. Firefighters where quick to react and rescued the couple from their upstairs bedroom, leaving them to look upon the carnage that had been left behind.
One of the passengers was taken to hospital with minor injuries but was released shortly afterwards. The driver of the car was arrested and is due to appear at Glasgow sheriff Court today.
Daisy said: “It is a miracle we are still alive. We are devastated, our home has been destroyed. I am badly shaken by it all. It has been such a shock for both of us.”
The couple are hoping to claim from their insurers in order for emergency repairs in order to make there home habitable.
