Are you a spy
The Government are training everyday civilians to be their own personal spy's as they push to crack down on the increasing problem of illegal sub-letting. The plan is for the Government to pay £500 to the first 1,000 people who report their neighbour as an illegal tenant.
It is believed that around 200,000 properties in the UK are illegally sub-let, which is one of the reasons why 1.8 million families in Britain are still on the waiting list for a property. This week will see the launch of the new crack down on these unauthorised tenants with 8,000 suspected homes to be investigated.
A member of the Big Brother Watch organisation, Dylan Sharpe said: "This shows the Government is creating an army of citizen snoopers."
