A new eco friendly way to decorate your house
Steven Chu, President Obama’s energy expert, has recently advised that a simple solution to help tackle climate change could be painting your house white. The U.S Secretary of Energy claims that by painting the worlds roofs, roads and pavements white, could help reduce climate change to the extent of removing all of the worlds cars for 11 years.
He proposes this would help by reflecting the suns rays back up into space rather than trapping the heat that the current black and grey surfaces do. He claims that with roofs being white it would cut the need for air conditioning meaning that the fuel and electricity used for that would be saved as much as 15%.
